It’s been a while since I last dabbled with SUSE Linux. To put it this way: The last version I used came on CDs in a cardboard box, and Soundblaster support had to be compiled into the kernel.
So here’s my first impressions after giving openSUSE 15.2 a shot.
- Battery life doubled compared to Ubuntu
- Hibernation works out of the box
- Intuitive disk partitioning during install
Cons: - Some essential codecs had to be installed manually - For CPU governors to work, intel_pstate=disable had to be set in Grub - The online-installer was slow to the point of being unusable
